Cancer is back
Jan was having some back pain off and on for about 3 months or so. We thought it was just from lifting grand babies and working to hard. We made a an appointment with Dr. Vaughn at Chiropractic Worx to see about getting an adjustment. The first appointment they took X-rays and made a couple of adjustments. Jan went everyday for 4 days and when she wasn't getting any better Dr. Vaughn ordered a MRI. The MRI showed cancer in the bone (in the vertebra). We made an appointment with Jan's oncologist and of course with the cancer in the bone we thought the worse. We were told that cancer in the bone was the easiest to treat as long as it hasn't gone to the liver, lungs, etc. Jan will have to take a chemo pill and an injection once a month to build her bones and make them stronger. We know we are not out of the woods yet but we where so relieved to know there is treatment without interrupting life. Dr. Seger said that if Dr. Vaughn had not ordered the MRI the cancer would not have been found for a long time. Jan had blood work and is going to have a PET scan done next week. We hope that all tests come back OK. We want to thank everyone for the many prayers said.
